Is there an application process?
Yes. Every application is reviewed to help maintain the quality and integrity of our marketplace. The application should take no longer than fifteen minutes, consisting of mostly basic information and two questions that require a longer response.
How do I set up a store?
Tutorials for how to set up your store, sell services and products are linked in the footer of alt-being.com under "Sell with Us". Start by clicking and reading the "Sellers Manual". Once you've set up your store, if you sell physical products, click and read the "Guide to Sell Products" manual.
Can I book appointments through altBeing?
Yes. Clients can discover your business and book services directly through the platform where applicable. Appointments are offered in 30-minute increments = 30, 60, 90, etc. timeslots.
Do I need a website?
No. Your altBeing storefront can serve as your professional online presence, though many vendors also link to their own websites. altBeing invests heavily in SEO and thereby sustainable foot traffic to your store.
How can my business stand out?
altBeing's platform is algorithm free. For most platforms, algorithms are unpredictable and can change at any time, reducing visibility and forcing businesses to adapt their strategy for business promotion. Rather, we offer featured space on our app through an affordable monthly auction called First Saturdays.
What is First Saturdays?
On the first Saturday of the month, vendors are welcome to bid for featured monthly space on the altBeing app and website. The purpose of this auction format is to allow for a fun and affordable way for businesses to gain visibility. The bidding price for each space starts at $1 per day, with $0.25 increments for each bid thereafter. First Saturdays begin in October, 2026.

To help maintain a vibrant marketplace, vendors are expected to generate at least $100 in monthly sales to remain active on the platform.
